David MarksDavid Marks — Co-Founder and CEO

David Marks is cofounder and CEO of Loomia and leads the company’s strategic and technical vision. David has led technical teams and developed strategic software solutions for over 12 years.

From 2000-2002, David was a founding member, architect, and product manager for Modulant Solutions, a pioneering semantics-based technology provider that was one of the first companies to use semantic approaches to address the issues of information interoperability.

Prior to Modulant, David was a principal engineer at Modem Media (acquired by Digitas/Publicis), an interactive agency. While there, he architected and implemented web-application solutions for a number of Fortune 1000 companies, including Visa, Miramax Films, and American Century Investments. Prior to Vivid Studios, he served as an application engineer for GoodCompany.com, a next-generation dating service, where he worked to automate the content publishing process. David attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

Curtis OlsonCurtis Olson — Vice President of Engineering

As Vice President of Engineering, Curtis Olson is responsible for every aspect of research, development and support of the entire service offering of Loomia. Mr. Olson brings over 20 years of technology innovation and team leadership experience in a variety of roles including web developer, researcher, consultant, database architect, trainer and manager.

Prior to joining Loomia, Mr. Olson was president and founder of Data Tier Technology, a company specializing in engineering management, internet applications development and database architecture. He also was Chief Development Officer at Modulant Solutions where he led the development of an industry leading semantics-based integration product suite and Vice President of Engineering at Modem Media, Inc. where he delivered innovative eBusiness and system integration solutions to Fortune 500 and start-up clients. Mr. Olson was the Director of Technology Services at Vivid Studios where he was a key member of the management team that completed a merger with Modem Media for a 5X return in less than 1 year.

In addition to his hands on industry experience, Mr. Olson has developed and taught technology-related courses in the University of California system and in various professional settings and has presented at industry conferences including Web Design World. Mr. Olson holds a BS in Computer Information Systems from DeVry University

Britta MeyerBritta Meyer – Vice President of Marketing

As VP Marketing, Britta leads Loomia’s marketing and product strategies, ensuring that our solutions and roadmap are designed to optimally address our customers’ changing needs. Prior to Loomia, Britta served as VP of Marketing & Operations at Eurekster, a leader in social search, and as VP Marketing & Customer Success at Topica, an email service provider, which provided her with a deep understanding of social technologies and communications solutions for online media. Previously, Britta served in senior positions at Commerce One, ineed.com, Computer Consultants International, the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, and Schluetersche Publishing in Germany. Being a native German, Britta holds a degree in business administration and a European Business degree from FH Osnabrueck.

Dave FioreDavid N. Fiore - CFO

Dave is a seasoned financial executive with more than 20 years of experience in finance, accounting, international business, operations, and computer systems. He has held the position of vice president for several large and small corporations and is experienced in supporting companies through major growth and transitional phases. Employers included OAZ Communications Inc., Domain Technology Inc., Dorbyl Ltd., Tambrands Inc., and Hawker Siddeley Electric Ltd. As a partner with the Brenner Group and consulting independently, Dave has supported emerging hi-tech companies for more than 10 years. Dave holds a BS in accounting with a minor in cost accounting from the University of South Africa. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in London and the South African Institute of Production Engineers.

Jeff ClavierJeff Clavier

Jean-Francois “Jeff” Clavier is the Founder and Managing Partner of SoftTech VC, one of the most active seed stage investors in Web 2.0 startups. Since 2004, Jeff has invested in more than 20 consumer Internet companies developing new concepts (such as social media) or revisiting “old” ideas with a new set of economics and technologies. In 2007, Jeff was recognized as one of the 13 “Web 2.0 King Makers” by Business 2.0, and is often noted for his investments in categories such as “passion-centric communities,” or for having already sold five of his companies in the past two years through successful M&As. Jeff’s 19 years of operational, entrepreneurial and venture capital experience enable him to add relevant perspective and value to the companies in which he invests.

Jeff’s initial investments were in the search, social media, online communities and application infrastructure sectors. Most recently, he added gaming and monetization to his investment focus, and he has been dabbling in Enterprise 2.0, system infrastructure and a few other emerging categories. Jeff invests primarily, but not exclusively, in Silicon Valley-based startups.

A popular speaker and moderator, Jeff participates in dozens of industry events throughout the year. These events range from local Silicon Valley panel discussions to international conferences, where he shares his passion for building Internet startups, angel and VC investing, innovation and entrepreneurship. Jeff has also produced a number of technology conferences and is a founding co-chair of the SDForum Search Special Interest Group.

Skip FleshmanSkip Fleshman

Skip has been with Asset Management Company since 2002. He has been in operational roles for over 15 years, has founded two startups and has worked in both small and large organizations. Skip has experience in software, security and government sales.

He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California at Davis. Skip was a Sloan Fellow and received an M.S. in Management from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

Skip focuses on software infrastructure (security and automation), enterprise software (open source and SaaS) and consumer solutions.

Dave McMurtryDave McMurtry

As Board member and Director, Dave McMurtry manages Loomia’s business and channel development efforts. Dave joined Loomia after a 14-year career at Intuit, the largest and most successful desktop and Internet software company in personal finance, small business management, personal and professional tax in the U.S.

During his long career at Intuit, Mr. McMurtry held a number of key roles, including managing outsourced technical support, product development, international operations, and most recently corporate development - strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and business development. During his 6-year period in this role, Mr. McMurtry’s team led transactions worth more than $1.5 billion in acquisitions to Intuit’s software and technology portfolio and executed over 25 partnership deals with more than 15 companies for delivery of technology, content, and services including partnerships with companies such as Yahoo, Google, AOL, D&B, Paypal, GovWorks, Visa, Morningstar, Nolo, FedEx/Kinko’s, DowJones, VeriSign, and eBay. Intuit was a one-product pre-IPO startup when he was asked by the founder to join in 1992.

Dave is a Sloan Fellow and has a Masters of Management from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business and a BS in Business Administration from California Polytechnic University. He is also President of HelpDaveChangeLives.org, a foundation to change lives around the world, as exhibited in the most recent project which raised $175,000 to build 35 houses for more than 200 victims of violence in a war-torn jungle village in northwest Colombia.
