Solving engineering challenges
Loomia Custom Pressure Sensor for Robotics, AR/VR & Automotive
The Loomia Electronic Layer can be made into a custom pressure sensor or matrix in your desired shape, size, and sensitivity. Utilizing piezoresistive technology, these sensors measure pressure by detecting changes in electrical resistance when a force is applied, typically decreasing resistance with increased force. Ideal for applications ranging from user interfaces to biomedical devices, our customizable and ultra-flexible sensors are perfect for high-motion-area pressure sensing in industries such as Robotics, AR/VR, and Automotive.
Ultra Flexible Components for Robotics, AR/VR, HMI and More
Our custom pressure sensor technology can be used to map surfaces on fingertips, headbands, and robotic end-effectors.
Loomia custom pressure sensors are fully customizable and able to sense from a gentle touch to body weight
Using a combination of masks and layering, we can mask out noisy areas or create more sensitive zones for your component
We work hand-in-hand with your team to customize the sensitivity of custom pressure sensors to meet your specs
Loomia custom pressure sensors are not printed, giving them a different performance profile than many off-the-shelf printed sensors

If you are looking to map pressure over a 1.25in area, this is the one. The Loomia Mini Soft Pressure Matrix has six leads, allowing you to map which point you are at in the 3x3 matrix. Each area has an analog readout that varies depending on the weight of the item on the pressure sensor. Generally, sensor values will read from 500K Ohms to 100 Ohms depending on the force put onto the sensor.
Loomia parts are designed to be easily soldered together, and work well with popular micro controllers like Arduino Nano and Teensy. The system revolves around Loomia's custom interconnect, which allows for a simple connection between buses. The interconnect can be soldered to headers for easy breadboarding. From fabric to wood, Loomia components can stick onto a range of materials, making your prototypes look clean and polished.
Note: There are a number of operating procedures to be aware of before using Loomia products. This includes directions to not wash or sew any of the parts. Make sure to check the Datasheet at www.loomia.com/resources to get more information on this component.

The Loomia Single Soft Pressure Sensor gives you an analog read that maps to force on the sensor. The more you press, the lower the resistance goes, perfect for on-body pressure related sensing like ribcage expansion for breathing. This soft sensor is small but mighty, making it convenient for small surface area applications.

Discover LOOMIA’s Thin Film Pressure Sensor—flexible, durable, and accurate for measuring pressure in wearables, robotics, and medical devices. The Loomia Mega Soft Pressure Matrix is a thin film pressure sensor alternative and has six leads, allowing you to map which point you are at in the 3x3 matrix and get a pressure mapping over a surface. Each area has an analog readout that varies depending on the weight of the item on the pressure sensor. Generally, sensor values will read from 500K Ohms to 100 Ohms depending on the force put onto the sensor.
